There’s something powerful about the words we speak—especially when we’re standing in the middle of a dry place.
In Ezekiel 37:1–8, God takes the prophet to a valley filled with dry bones. Not just bones—but bones that were very dry. Lifeless. Hopeless. Forgotten. A place most of us would walk past and label too far gone.
But here’s what I love about this passage: God didn’t tell Ezekiel to mourn over the bones. He didn’t tell him to bury them. He told him to prophesy to them. In other words, He said, “Speak life.”
🔥 What Are the Dry Bones in Your Life?
• A marriage that feels empty?• A dream you buried after years of disappointment?• A loved one straying from the faith?• Your own faith that feels weak and silent?
If God told Ezekiel to speak to dry bones, He’s telling you the same thing: open your mouth and speak life!
💬 What Does Speaking Life Look Like?
It means:
• Declaring healing over sickness.• Proclaiming peace in chaos.• Believing in restoration even when everything around you is falling apart.• Speaking purpose over your children.• Affirming that you still have value, vision, and victory—even when you feel drained.
Ezekiel spoke what God told him to say. And when he did, there was a sound—a rattling. Bones began to come together. What was once scattered and dry started to take form.
🙌🏾 The Lesson?
God didn’t ask Ezekiel if the bones looked alive. He asked, “Can these bones live?”
Some of us are waiting to see signs before we speak. But God is waiting for your words of faith before He moves.
Even if it looks dead. Even if people have walked away. Even if you feel like you’re the only one believing—keep speaking life.
